Boris Bennett - Jewish East End Photographer to the Stars!!

Boris Bennett's former premises 14 Whitechapel RdBoris Bennett was born in 1900 and died in 1985.  He worked in the East End from 1927 to 1945.  He eventually gave up photography to become a successful financier.  He is buried in Bushy cemetery.   Boris's studio was at 14 Whitechapel Road - see photo left. Boris's former premises are the building with the name 'Barone' written on it. The art deco green tiles on the front are the same as when Boris Bennett worked there.  The building is now (Sept 2006) a cafe.  In his heyday Boris was the photographer for your simcha!
